Why fit matters more than you think
It’s more natural to think of a business school as an entity, a non-living individual working somewhat like a machinery, sifting through hundreds, sometimes thousands of applications to select candidates for an MBA admission.
I would encourage you for a moment to think of a business school as an individual and think of the admissions process as a mutual selection process - one where the business school is equally eager to identify the right candidate for its school, as are you, to secure an admission.
In other words, it is not a process of rejection, it is a process of selection.
And if you consciously use this mindset to identify the right business school for your profile, I am confident you will end up with a more realistic set of business schools to target, and consequently those where you stand a higher chance of converting your application to an interview.
I have co-founded www.elevanted.com, where we work very closely with candidates like yourself, through a trademark rigorous process, to identify the right business school and diversify your business school selection strategy, while positioning you before them in a hyper-personalized manner through improving your profile and application.
